Patients Are Top Docs "Top" Priority Dr. Michael J. Crovetti Shares His Success
(Las Vegas, NV) - As orthopaedic surgeon Dr. Mike Crovetti of The Bone & Joint Institute of Southern Nevada celebrates two years of success, he humbly states, "I'm thrilled to be recognized by my peers and the public, but I keep the focus on my patients." His solo practice has grown quickly, with over 1400 cases to date.
Having been recently named a "Top Doctor" by Las Vegas Life, Crovetti states, "Education and answering patient questions and concerns are at the heart of all that I do". With that in mind, Crovetti has developed a dynamic multimedia presentation on CD ROM as well as inter-active touch-screen monitors in each room with everything from orthopaedic education to movies for kids.
So what's new and exciting in the orthopaedic field you ask? Dr. Crovetti attributes his success to a willingness to incorporate new innovative techniques into his practice. His most recent advance is a procedure called minimally invasive hip or knee replacement surgery. "The minimally invasive surgery shortens a patients rehab in half ", states Crovetti. This surgery takes less time than traditional surgery, a ten-inch incision is reduced to a three-four inch incision, there is less cutting of the muscles and tendons, and patients experience less pain after surgery with a faster recovery time. Dr. Crovetti has written the technique for mini-hip replacement and teaches other surgeons through lectures and a visiting surgeon program.
The American Academy of Orthopaedics reports that more than 435,000 total hip & knee replacement surgeries are performed in the United States each year and with an aging population of active lifestyles, these are on the rise. So who's had success with this surgery in Las Vegas?
At 49 years old Eric Jefferson was diagnosed with a bone disease. "Basically my hips were deteriorating and collapsing inward. The day after my surgery in May, Dr. Crovetti personally called each one of my family members to let them know how I was doing. Now my life has changed dramatically. I joined the Las Vegas Athletic Club and I'm building a new home in Sun City Anthem which should be ready for the one year anniversary of my new hips. I'm taking up golf, starting to dance and hopefully I'll meet a nice woman. It feels like the movie, It's A Wonderful Life!"
Every Friday The Bone & Joint Institute hosts a clinic on Supartz, the world's most prescribed joint fluid therapy, where patients who are receiving pain relief treatment come for injections and education. Dr. Crovetti's office is at 10001 S. Eastern Ave., Suite 102, in Henderson.
